Following are a number of active road safety organisations which can provide various services and advice for different types of road users.
Bikesafe – specifically for motorcyclists. Provide advice and workshops.
Brake – promote road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use, and effective road safety policies through campaigns, community education, information and advice for organisations operating fleets of vehicles and road safety professionals. Provide support people bereaved as a result of road accidents.
Don’t Risk It – focuses on a specific distractions and dangers such as kids in the car, drunk driving, country roads, seatbelts and driver fatigue
Good Egg Guide – advice about child car seats
Institute of Advanced Motorists – organisation providing advanced driver training based on the Roadcraft system of vehicle control
Roadpeace – provides support to those bereaved by or injured in a vehicle accident
Roadsafe – includes the Prince Michael of Kent Road Safety Award. It is a road safety partnership of leading companies in the motor and transport industries in Britain, the government and road safety professionals.
Road Safety Foundation – advocates road casualty reduction through simultaneous action on all three components of the safe road system: roads, vehicles and behaviour.
Road Safety GB – aims to reduce the number and severity of road collisions by raising awareness of road safety and safer road user behaviour with the road-using public, through the provision of training, advice, information, leadership, research, publicity, informed comment and other services to relevant bodies (national and local) and to its members
Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents – 100-year-old charity that works to prevent accidents in general, but does have a focus on road safety.
SHARP – rates motorcycle helmets.
Tales of the Road – aimed at kids to help them with road safety
Think! – Government-run organisation providing road safety information for road users with an aim to encourage safer behaviour to reduce the number of people killed and injured on the roads every year.
Vision Zero Youth Council – youth-run organisation that aims to educate at schools and work with councils and other organisations in order to achieve road safety outcomes.
