From April 7, 2014 the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (formerly the DSA) is replacing the current ‘check test’ for Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) with a new ‘standards check’.
If you are looking for a driving instructor this will make it easier for you to identify which ones of them have exemplary performance.
- Grade A: 85% or above, indicating an overall high standard of instruction
- Grade B: 60% or above, indicating a sufficient level of competence
- Fail: Less than 60%, indicating unsatisfactory performance.
Learner drivers and parents should find this easier to understand.
The standard covers training for drivers of road-going cars, light vans, motorbikes and mopeds, including licence acquisition and post-test driving and riding programmes.
