Indicator lights shouldn't flash too slowly otherwise they won't attract the attention of other drivers. If they flash too quickly there's not enough difference in time between being on and off. While this is less of a problem with modern LED lights, with incandescent bulbs, the bulb doesn't have time to die down between each pulse if it's too fast.

If you find your indicators start to flash quite rapidly this usually means one of the bulbs has blown.

You should check that all your lights work properly before every journey. Make sure that any signals you give can be clearly seen. If you're not sure whether your signals can be seen you can use arm signals as well to make your intentions clear. Only do this if you're going slowly.
