A dip in the road presents hazards. It may hide oncoming vehicles if it's long or deep enough. As you go over the edge of the dip, your front wheel or wheels will be slightly unloaded meaning your steering will be lighter and less effective, and you'll have less braking power until your vehicle is influenced by gravity to stabilise itself on the road again.
On the other side of a dip, a sharp upwards change in gradient of the tarmac can bottom out your suspension and cause instability. Drivers towing trailers should take special care.
Avoid overtaking just before a dip as it will be difficult to see if there are other vehicles coming.
