{"id":2270,"date":"2015-04-23T23:55:58","date_gmt":"2015-04-23T23:55:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/?p=2270"},"modified":"2019-02-05T11:20:50","modified_gmt":"2019-02-05T11:20:50","slug":"road-works-level-crossings-and-tramways-additional-rules-for-high-speed-roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/road-works-level-crossings-and-tramways-additional-rules-for-high-speed-roads\/","title":{"rendered":"Road works, level crossings and tramways: Additional rules for high-speed roads"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Rule 289<\/h2>\n<p>Take special care on motorways and other high-speed dual carriageways.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One or more lanes may be closed to traffic and a lower speed limit may apply.<\/li>\n<li>Works vehicles that are slow moving or stationary with a large \u2018Keep Left\u2019 or \u2018Keep Right\u2019 sign on the back are sometimes used to close lanes for repairs, and a flashing light arrow may also be used to make the works vehicle more conspicuous from a distance and give earlier warning to drivers that they need to move over to the next lane.<\/li>\n<li>Check mirrors, slow down and change lanes if necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front (see Rule 126).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Rule 290<\/h2>\n<p>Contraflow systems mean that you may be travelling in a narrower lane than normal and with no permanent barrier between you and oncoming traffic. The hard shoulder may be used for traffic, but be aware that there may be broken-down vehicles ahead of you.
