{"id":2242,"date":"2015-04-23T23:55:59","date_gmt":"2015-04-23T23:55:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/?p=2242"},"modified":"2019-02-05T11:20:33","modified_gmt":"2019-02-05T11:20:33","slug":"motorways-on-the-motorway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/motorways-on-the-motorway\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorways: On the motorway"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Rule 260<\/h2>\n<p>When you can see well ahead and the road conditions are good, you should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>drive at a steady cruising speed which you and your vehicle can handle safely and is within the speed limit (see the Speed limits table)<\/li>\n<li>keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front and increase the gap on wet or icy roads, or in fog (see Rules 126 and 235).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Rule 261<\/h2>\n<p>You <strong>MUST NOT<\/strong> exceed 70 mph (112 km\/h), or the maximum speed limit permitted for your vehicle (see Speed limits table). If a lower speed limit is in force, either permanently or temporarily, at road works for example, you <strong>MUST NOT<\/strong> exceed the lower limit. On some motorways, mandatory motorway signals (which display the speed within a red ring) are used to vary the maximum speed limit to improve traffic flow. You <strong>MUST NOT<\/strong> exceed this speed limit.<br \/>\n<strong>Law RTRA sects 17, 86, 89 &amp; sch 6<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Rule 262<\/h2>\n<p>The monotony of driving on a motorway can make you feel sleepy. To minimise the risk, follow the advice in Rule 91.<\/p>\n<h2>Rule 263<\/h2>\n<p>You <strong>MUST NOT<\/strong> reverse, cross the central reservation, or drive against the traffic flow.
