{"id":2067,"date":"2015-04-23T23:55:59","date_gmt":"2015-04-23T23:55:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/?p=2067"},"modified":"2019-02-05T11:20:32","modified_gmt":"2019-02-05T11:20:32","slug":"waiting-and-parking-parking-at-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/waiting-and-parking-parking-at-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Waiting and parking: Parking at night"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Rule 248<\/h2>\n<p>You <strong>MUST NOT<\/strong> park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space. <strong>Laws CUR reg 101 &amp; RVLR reg 24<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Rule 249<\/h2>\n<p>All vehicles <strong>MUST<\/strong> display parking lights when parked on a road or a lay-by on a road with a speed limit greater than 30 mph (48 km\/h).<br \/>\n<strong>Law RVLR reg 24<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Rule 250<\/h2>\n<p>Cars, goods vehicles not exceeding 1525 kg unladen weight, invalid carriages, motorcycles and pedal cycles may be parked without lights on a road (or lay-by) with a speed limit of 30 mph (48 km\/h) or less if they are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>at least 10 metres (32 feet) away from any junction, close to the kerb and facing in the direction of the traffic flow<\/li>\n<li>in a recognised parking place or lay-by.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other vehicles and trailers, and all vehicles with projecting loads, <strong>MUST NOT<\/strong> be left on a road at night without lights.<br \/>\n<strong>Laws RVLR reg 24 &amp; CUR reg 82(7)<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Rule 251<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Parking in fog.<\/strong> It is especially dangerous to park on the road in fog. If it is unavoidable, leave your parking lights or sidelights on.<\/p>\n<h2>Rule 252<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Parking on hills.<\/strong> If you park on a hill you should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>park close to the kerb and apply the handbrake firmly<\/li>\n<li>select a forward gear and turn your steering wheel away from the kerb when facing uphill<\/li>\n<li>select reverse gear and turn your steering wheel towards the kerb when facing downhill<\/li>\n<li>use \u2018park\u2019 if your car has an automatic gearbox.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/highway-code-rule-252.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2072 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/highway-code-rule-252-300x239.jpg\" alt=\"highway-code-rule-252\" width=\"300\" height=\"239\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/highway-code-rule-252-300x239.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mocktheorytest.com\/resources\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/highway-code-rule-252.jpg 478w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rule 248 You MUST NOT park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space.
