The cost of the driving theory test will be cut by 25%, saving learner drivers over \u00a3100 million over the next 9 years.<\/p>\n

The fee for a car driving theory test will fall by \u00a36 in October this year (2014), taking the cost of a test from \u00a331 to \u00a325, with a further drop of \u00a32 in October 2015 down to \u00a323.<\/p>\n

Theory test fees for motorcycles and other categories of vehicle will also be reduced (see table below). The changes have been confirmed following a public consultation, which you can read here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

DVSA Chief Executive, Alastair Peoples, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cBy agreeing new contract arrangements for the delivery of theory tests we have secured significant cost savings, and it is right that we pass these savings on to our customers. We want to make sure that we continue to keep pace with customers\u2019 needs and deliver services in a way which is both convenient and cost effective.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
